Sneak peek test review11/28/2023 ![]() ![]() I was so excited but nervous to open our results I actually passed my phone to Sean. I knew straight away with Eva that she was a girl but this time I just had no clue. I’d had no inkling with this pregnancy at all whether it was a boy or girl. The good thing about SneakPeek is the lab emails you to say when they have received your test and then email you again with your results. The time it took from the lab receiving my results to them emailing me the gender results was no more than 8 hours! I thought this was absolutely brilliant! The results from our test were sent to my email address ( I had been checking everyday). I then packaged up my test and sent it off that day from the post office (prepaid).Ī few days later our results were in. I did scrub really thoroughly under my nails beforehand using the little nail brush provided, but I just thought I would mention that some of my blood did go under them. Whilst getting the blood from your finger the instructions do inform you NOT to get the blood underneath your fingernails, which unfortunately I found couldn’t be helped. I say little, when you actually look at how much blood has come from your finger to fill that vile it doesn’t look little. I followed the instructions and used the little blue finger prick to prick my finger and fill the little vile to the line. The next part was collecting the blood which I found quite easy. ![]() The kitchen was clean anyway but I was determined that I was not going to contaminate my test with any of Sean’s DNA (Y chromosomes). Firstly, I cleaned the kitchen sides and sprayed them down with Detol anti-bac spray. I took my test in the morning (not that this matters) when Sean and Eva were eating breakfast to keep them occupied. My testing kit arrived promptly and I took the test around 2 days after it actually arrived. They say 8 weeks minimum just to make sure that your baby’s DNA is definitely in your system. I was around 17 weeks when I took my test. You can take your Gender DNA Test anywhere from 8 weeks on wards. This is a question that quite a few people have asked me and the answer is as early as 8 weeks. If no Y chromosomes are present within the blood sample then this indicates a baby girl. Therefore if a women were to show a Y chromosome in her blood this would show that she is carrying a baby boy. Women naturally only carry XX chromosomes and men carry XY chromosomes. The SneakPeek DNA test uses the small sample of your blood from a finger prick to see if there are any Y chromosomes within your blood. How can you find out the gender from a blood sample? You then receive your gender results via email. Once you’ve taken your blood sample you would then mail it back to the lab to be tested. When your kit arrives you will find a detailed instruction booklet inside which tells you step by step how to safely collect your blood sample from your finger prick. You will hen receive your kit in the post and then all the fun starts. This can easily be done through the direct SneakPeek website or from Amazon. Your first step would be to order your test online. ![]() I’m sure most of you are familiar with how the SneakPeek Gender Test works but if your not then I’ll just quickly walk you through it. Therefore because neither of us are patient enough to wait until 20 weeks or keep it as a surprise we jumped at the chance to work with SneakPeek. Īs I’ve mentioned quite a lot throughout this pregnancy, one of the hardest things for me has not been able to have Sean attend any of my appointments with me, especially the scans due to the current circumstances of the UK. How do you say? Well it’s all down to a wonderful company called SneakPeek. We actually found this out at 17 weeks WITHOUT having a scan. It is no secret now as we have announced on socials that we are expecting another beautiful baby girl. ![]()
